The mission of the Board of Health Section is to encourage board of health members to become more engaged, at the strategic level, with their local health department in advocating for public health in their community. The purpose for board of health member service is to represent the community public health interests of various community health constituencies including: the elderly, children, mentally and physically disabled community members, community members afflicted with chronic and other diseases, health care consumer advocacy and community members that are limited in their access to healthcare.
