Georgia Residents Have Lower Rates of Heavy Drinking


Georgia residents have lower rates of heavy drinking and binge drinking when compared to the rest of the nation, according to a study recently published in the American Journal of Public Health.

The study says 6.9 % of Georgians qualify as heavy drinkers (defined as an average of more than one drink per day for women and two drinks per day for men), compared to a national average of 8.2 %.
