The Nutrition Section serves to contribute to the Georgia Public Health Association vision of Healthy Georgians, living in healthy communities. The Nutrition Section was organized for the purpose of promoting the public and personal health of the citizens of Georgia through contributions to and support of the principles of advocacy, evidence based practice and workforce competence and infrastructure. The Nutrition Section supports, encourages, and recognizes member achievement, innovation, impact, and initiative in the area of nutrition.

The Power of Support in Breastfeeding and Parenting

Melisa Glover, breastfeeding coordinator for the West Central Health District, shared a presentation with the GPHA Nutrition Section on the importance of support for breastfeeding mothers. The training explores how support from partners, family, healthcare providers, and community programs impacts breastfeeding success and parenting confidence.
