Public Health Forced To Cut Budget by More Than $17 million in 2 years

Georgia’s Public Health budget will have to shrink even further, according to a letter from Dr. Sandra Elizabeth Ford, the acting Director of Georgia’s Division of Public Health. The letter was sent to all 18 District Health Directors today, and announces cuts of more than $17 million over the next 2 years. These cuts follow several years of cuts which have resulted in reductions in staff and services in many county health departments.
