Legislative Update for Feb. 28

The Senate Labor and Insurance Committee approved SB 327 that modifies the requirement for businesses to provide break time and a private location for an employee who needs to express milk for her nursing child. The changes appeared to have support from both the business community and advocates for nursing mothers.

Georgia House Modifies Budget Cuts

The budget is still the big story coming out of the Georgia capitol. The Georgia House last week modified many of the cuts recommended by Governor Brian Kemp, including cuts to county health departments. The $27.4 million FY20 amended appropriations bill has been sent over to the Senate.
