Smoking Rates Hit a Record Low
Great news out of the Centers for Disease Control – fewer people in the US are smoking. In the first quarter of 2015, only 15.2 % of US adults reported smoking on a regular basis, which is a record low number.

DCH Board Meeting Recap
The Department of Community Health (DCH) Board met June 11, 2015. Commissioner Clyde Reese recognized two retiring long-time employees Vince Harris (IT Director) and Tim Connell (CFO). The Department is currently interviewing candidates for CFO. Matt Jarrard has been named the new Director of IT.

Beachgoers aren’t the only ones who need to take precautions against sun damage. People who work outdoors are at increased risk for skin cancer, and Georgia’s melanoma rate is higher than the national average.
