Epidemiology Section To Host "Bridge Building" Conference

Improving the public’s health must truly be a community effort, which is why GPHA’s Epidemiology Section is asking you to save-the-date for an upcoming conference about building partnerships. The Epidemiology Section will join with the Children’s Health Center of the Medical Center of Central Georgia to offer the FREE conference called, “Building Bridges: A Community Affair.”

The all-day conference is scheduled for September 26, 2008 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. Topics will include vaccine-preventable diseases, notifiable disease reporting, and an update on vulnerable populations and pandemic influenza.

The keynote speaker will be Larry K. Pickering, MD, FAAP. He is the Senior Advisor to the Director of the National Immunization Program at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, editor of the Red Book, and Executive Secretary of ACIP.

The conference is designed for pediatricians, family practitioners, OB-GYNs, internal medicine physicians, general and pediatric nurses, hospital personnel, school nurses, public health nurses, epidemiologists, outreach workers and communicable disease specialists.
