The Journal of the Georgia Public Health Association (jGPHA) announces a call for papers highlighting the public health mentored research of undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. This call is open to students currently enrolled in and those who completed their degree program on or before June 2016 at Georgia colleges and universities.
Mentoring is a dyadic, face-to-face, long-term relationship between a supervisor and a novice that fosters the mentee’s professional, academic, and/or personal development. In public health, mentored research is an experienced scientist/practitioner who guides a student’s experience. A few examples of mentored research include: internship/capstone, summer research, thesis, and/or dissertation.
The Editor-in-Chief invites student mentored-research and related papers in health promotion/disease prevention, community engagement, advocacy, and public health policy for its Spring 2018 issue. In addition to following jGPHA guidelines to authors, criteria for selection include:
- Statement of student-mentor relationship
- Scholarly work
- Logical organization
- Mastery of subject
- Appropriate citation documentation
Editor: Raymona H. Lawrence, DrPH, MPH, MCHES, Assistant Professor of Community Health, Jiann- Ping Hsu College of Public Health, Georgia Southern University will serve as editor of the Student-Mentored Research issue.
PUBLISHING INFORMATION
Full manuscripts, brief reports, research protocols, and practice notes will be accepted.
